I am a Theist/creationist, its ok, I’m not contagious.
“I’m an atheist who believes in evolution because … common sense.” It absolutely baffles me how people without any metal effort take ownership of statements such as this, like a near death man imbibes water in a desert.
I would like to break this down into pieces.
“I believe in evolution because common sense”. This one I love. Somewhere between graduating high school in 1996 and getting my master’s degree the term “theory” was replaced with “its the only option or you are an ignorant fool” in text books - as though to question this theory is the equivalent to believing at the edge of the ocean you fall off into the never-ending abyss. FYI - from the summit of My. Whitney in Southern California you can actually see the curvature of the Earth… It exists. I am of the school of thought that the Earth is actually much younger than the petulant child would have you believe. Why? Science… That’s why. Not science based upon the idea that “I’m going to prove that this is the answer” as if before the research the answer is already assured - I call that bias - motivated crap-science. True science takes you WHERE EVER the truth leads you regardless of your feelings.
So, why do I believe what I believe?
Whether potassium dating, uranium dating, carbon dating, all have been scientifically flawed in their use. Proof?
A volcano eruption nearly leveling a mountain. The eruption was dated between 500,000 and 2.8 million years. What’s wrong with that? We watched it happen on national television in 1980 - Mt. St. Helens.
A mastadon unearthed in the Yukon was tested with three different sections of its flesh along with the log found wedged between its legs. 40,000 years, 18,000 years, 10,000 years and 9,000 years were all arrived upon from the same specimen. That’s a serious spread.
They Carbon date oil to be millions of years old. If you look at - actually look at what they say they are testing for and then learn about the Carbon 14 itself - the rate that Carbon 14 decays - there would be none left yet oil is rich in Carbon 14. Coal has been reproduced in labs using the same conditions that take “millions of years” in just two weeks. The science doesnt add up.
Where are the bodies? Darwin himself said that the biggest flaw in his theory is no bodies of proof - no “middle animals” that show progression.
People - looking at people. Using the growth rate of the developed world at two parents x2 exponentially, from a single couple it would take only 1500 years to create a population of 6,000,000,000 people. If we had been here for even only 100,000 years that population amount would have been cycled over millions and millions and millions of times… Bones stacked upon bones stacked upon bones. But there isn’t. In fact its the exact opposite, almost as though in the last 500 year’s we’ve gone from several hundred million to 8 billion.
Locked within the layers of earth which took - as text books claim - hundreds of millions of years to accumulate - are trees standing vertical. And not just in one locale. Around the world trees are found jetting up through the “eons” of time. So either they grew from an ancient seed deep within the earth devoid of light, carbon dioxide, warmth, and nutrients and pushing their way through millions of tons of sedimentary rock branching out like an underground tree or, it stood for millions of years withstanding weathering, insect assault and animal battery while the sediments build up around them or, or… The sediments didn’t take eons, but rather a few days.
Scientists have been relieved of their careers at major universities because they brought forth actual material evidence, soft tissue of dinosaurs, taken from dinosaur skeletons used to identify the species. Blood still in vessels, skin tone and texture. Without even testing the specimens the professors were fired - for practicing ACTUAL SCIENTIFIC STUDY. The universities could have shut them up by proving them wrong with laboratory tests, but instead they were silenced, as though a dark secret had to be protected. Young dinosaurs? Impossible?
“I’m an atheist because common sense” implies a couple things. For one, I’m emotionally unsure about my choice but I know I don’t like the Bible [it tells me right from wrong and therefore i can’t do whatever I want (narrative of a petulant child)] and if I say “because common sense” hopefully no one will have thecourage or tenacity to ask for further insight. This opinion also implies that anyone - including some of the greatest scientific minds of all time - who believe in a higher power somehow lack common sense. So the petulant child is yelling amd screaming that Einstein (yes Einstein believed in God) lacks common sense because he believed in an individual who would hold you accountable for your actions.
It has been mathematically proven that there is a greater likelihood of 1051 people, blindfolded and put into a dark room being handed rubix cubes and simultaneously solving the cubes at the EXACT same time… Yeah, that’ll happen. It is genetically impossible for a fish to become rat to become a dog to become a water borne dog then to become a whale. Then entire theory of evolution revolves around entirely throwing out every other scientific law as every other law would prove the theory fatally flawed, and absolutely false.
The actual mathematical probability that the universe in its present entirety would fall into place as it has is 10 to the negative 51st power - beyond mathematically impossible.
Max Planck, the father of Modern Physics wrote “All matter arises and persists only due to a force that causes the atomic particles to vibrate, holding them together in the tiniest of solar systems, the atom. Yet in the whole of the universe, there is no force that is either intelligent or eternal, and we must, therefore, assume that behind this force there is a conscious, intelligent Mind or Spirit. This is the very origin of all matter.”
Einstein wrote "I see a pattern, but my imagination cannot picture the maker of that pattern. I see a clock, but I cannot envision the clockmaker. The human mind is unable to conceive of the four dimensions, so how can it conceive of a God, before whom a thousand years and a thousand dimensions are as one?”
If the great minds of scientific intellect can believe in a Higher being … What right does a high school teacher have to declare there is no God and you must be a fool to believe in such.
This is a small bit of information about the cores of my beliefs. You have a right to your beliefs - but please, do your due diligence and research… Learn about the “concrete” statements being flung at you. Qualify them, or dismiss them not based upon “i reas a text book so it must be true” but upon your own human ability to reason, rationalize and logically formulate intelligent beliefs.
